Foot rest not repairable

Our lift chair foot rest will not rise as one side is not connected to the lifter anymore. After waiting nine days repair man says cannot  get bushing so no repair and since it was my moms, I am out of luck really but I may find a furniture repair man who could figure a way to make it work . But they will not help me. This is not the lazy boy of my parents days.
