Mailed a cancellation request letter as per the contract to PO BOX 54170 Irvine, CA 92619-4170 in January 2016.
Since that time I have received numerous collections calls from all over the nation from LA Fitness reps attempting to acquire new banking information from me in order to make withdrawals.  I have reiterated on numerous phone calls that I have cancelled months ago. Finally today I was provided with a phone number  to complete the cancellation. The rep states that the membership would be cancelled and I would receive an email confirming.  I confirmed that the cancellation should have been in effect since January and I would not be paying any balance shown for February & March.  Jeremy confirmed those charges would be deleted. However, upon receiving my cancellation confirmation email there is an outstanding balance shown and requested to be paid at my local gym?!?!?!

Contact your state AG for assistance..
Health clubs have a history of putting barriers in the way of customers trying to cancel, even sending "collections" letters to customers who have actually cancelled, to "encourage" them to renew by paying the "delinquent membership".  The Texas AG went after Ballys for this one, and LA Fitness bought Ballys.
