A number from Thousand Oaks (on id) has called at least 8 times a day for 2 days. Boyfriend finally answered. He says its an Indian or Arab lady w/name of Sieri Smith claiming i won a 200$ gift card for using my credit cards at gas stations and for groceries. She asked for the last four digits of my card, he said which card? she replied What one is used more often.....(duh.) if she really had my info she would know. Anyway, he told them he would call them back. they are still calling... My computer crashed a week ago. I was using McCafee security plus, but i believe the virus sucked my info out from under the security. i couldnt help but notice that not one complaint has been made since 2010. It must be time to break out the tried and true scams from yesteryear.Buyer and Internet Surfers Beware!

Profile is consistent with a fraudulent telemarketer calling themselves "Central Rewards", operating out of a call center in Mumbai, India.

They are reported to engage in varous fraudulent rackets, including reports that they may be calling when they already have consumer credit card information, in an attempt to record the consumer saying the last 4 digits of the credit card number.  That is consistent with a deceptive con attempting to portray the recording as some "preacquired account number" charge "authorization".

They are currently the most fraudulent telemarketer out there, with the widest range of fradulent tactics and fraudulent "products", ranging from these "auto benefits" or "gas discount" scams, to fraudulent "magazine subscrition termination fee" shakedown scams.

They also have numerous complaints reporting they are intercepting calls made by consumers to various banks, utility companies, and insurance call centers.  This may indicate they have obtained 800 numbers 1 digit different from various American company customer service numbers, and are using the tactic to fraudulently pretend their "offers" are somehow associated with the American companies.

The fact that they called you asking for you to say the last 4 digits of your card number indicates they already have your card number.  Immediately contact your bank to block the card number, to prevent impending fraud.  Dispute any charges they cram through as FRAUDULENT.  Your bank should be able to reverse charges if you dispute promptly, generally within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charges, under FCBA or FRB Reg. E.
