multiple calls and no one there from 866-673-4406

I get a call from 866-673-4406 multiple times a day.  I answer the phone and it hangs up.  I've called the phone service and they say the only thing I can do is change my number, they can not block toll free numbers.
This is very frustrating.

    Why am I getting a lot of calls from this #1-812-218-3144.

    Any body has an idea, if so please pass on

    One report that caller id shows "Census Bureau", but no confirmation verifying that.  I would not expect that any legitimate calls from the "U.S. Cencus Bureau" would occur in the sort of volume matching a scamming telemarketer.

    Beware, since anyone falsely trying to appear to be a government agency is probably engaged in other fraud.  A spoofed caller id would only be the initial step in their fraud.

    Other numbers of the form 812-218-xxxx show up on their website, so it may be that 812-218-3144 is a legitimate number for the U.S. Census Bureau.

    I have been answering questions for the census for over a year now.  This is a department of the census dealing with employment.  They have never asked anything inappropriate or too personal.  Questions deal with if family members are working and how many hours.  They have never been anything other than extremely polite and professional.
