This machine is enough to drive anyone crazy.  Here we are two retired people wringing out wash by hand and having to dry it outside because its still too wet to put in the dryer - just like going back thirty or forty years in time!  I have read several complaints and can identify with most of them.  Washer was simply frustration from day 1.  It is noisy beyond belief, I hated the fact that I can't look inside to see what is going on, it does not get clothes clean, and now it will not spin out the excess water.  I could go on but I think I have made my point when you read my comments in the context of all the others.  Model MVWC400XW purchased Nov. 12, 2012 just about two and one half years old.  There are only two adults in this household, its not like I wash more than four or five loads of laundry a day, maybe five loads in a week.  This is a shame, we are on a fixed income (small income) and should not need to go to shop for washer at this stage of the game.  I think that Maytag needs to recall these machines, they have multiple problems!

WE purchased this washer in 2013 and it has been tearing clothing, especially fine fabrics, ever since.  This is irrespective of setting used.  We have also experienced the poor washing, which is not that unusual for so-called "high-efficiency" washers.  Apparently Maytag has responded to the complaint about low water levels by making the new models with doors (or lids, as you might call them on top-loaders) that lock shut until the cycle is over!  That way you cannot see the water level.  I guess the laugh is on us.

Centennial Maytag Washer HE. Model MVWC415EW1. Bought about 4 months ago. Awful machine. Water doesn't fill enough to cover clothes. I tried bulky sheets and high water feature, still doesn't wash well. It takes more loads to do what I used to in fewer. Time is precious to us all.  It takes a long time to wash a load and then clothes are stll not clean. I often re wash   So very sad that I bought this washer. Maytag needs to recall this machine. What were they thinking?  They obviously we're not thinking about their customers and future repeat customers
