This company and its rep, Richard, are unbelievable with their rude, disrespectful, obnoxious unnecessary phone calls. Saturday, for example, Richard called twice, and the second time this is what he said: "Get your ass out of bed and wake up Jeremy and Amanda" .....I cannot believe they are allowed to speak to consumers in such a manner. I am only listed as a reference and he/they harass me on a daily basis with language that is beyond my comprehension that anyone could use. This company needs to be put out of business! I am contacting the FTC without hesitation

So stop putting up with it.

Someone else using you as a "reference" (even if true) does not give them permission from YOU to harass you with abusive calls.

Why don't you contact a consumer attorney.

One well known law firm in the Chicago area is Edelman, Combs, Latturner & Goodwin.
They practice consumer law, including suing abusive debt collectors.

Or you can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net

When they call tell them you are recording and request that they cease.  Also save all voicemail messages from them, keeping track of the date and time.

It appears from other complaints that customer abuse and harassment is part of their culture, even when customers are paid up current.

With calls like this, they are probably dumb enough to leave snarky messages even when you have warned them.

Customer harassment runs so counter to normal self serving business practice that there must be some financial motive behind it.  It's common with debt collectors, but not usually with original creditors like this auto lender, who have some interest in repeat business.

Harassing calls, even with on-time payments, would be consistent with delayed posting of payments to fake "late charges", using the calls as cover.  If I were a customer, I would be watching to make sure all payments were properly credited, but there are also complaints borrowers have had problems getting statements.
