I get these annoying calls7:30 am and well after 9:00pm from this company Shapiro & Price, stating they are litigation attorneys. although the number listed 877.228.1217 Shapiro & Price that number  is listed on my caller ID as 866.377.5362.  Mr Bob Carson has called over 30 time.  He has threatened my mother, has called my job and threatened me something terribly, using profanity. He stated I owe a company that went out of business and now i am being held responsible for filing fees and court fees well over $4,500.00. And if I would pay today we can settle this matter for $2,000.00.  Can someone share some insight on this issue?  In the meantime perhaps I will go to the media, but in the meantime your feedback would be appreciated. HELP!!

    You are obviously one of them. This company is not about getting people to pay a legitimate debt, but a debt that does not exit. Absolute 1000% SCAM

    This company is not a legite debt collector. Check BBB, and they have an F rating and 16 formal unresolved complaints, and 19 other complaints in which the company refused to respond to the BBB investigation

    I just received calls from Shapiro and Price by one Mr. Clifton.  When I started asking for copies of the documents he became more rude and hung up on me.  WHen I tried to call back and ask for Mr. Clifton's extension # I was hung up on twice and then when I finally got through to a Ms. Jones she became very loud and rude when I asked to her send me copies of the documents because she was stating that  I had a checking account I used to take out a payday loan and I told her I never had an account with that bank and I needed copies of the documents, she NEVER said she would send them to me.  ALl she kept pushing for is for me to pay the loan and that was my only option. They are threatening me with a lawsuit and that a sheriff will deliver a summons to me at my place of work.  I feel harrassed and can't wait to report them for harrassment.

      i went through this as well  before, and i have spoke with Ms. Jones and i am still trying to get documents on the case that they said that i owed money for to a payday loan place in Toledo Ohio, this was back in 2011, they did do a lot of threatening to me as well but the phones numbers that i was given doesn't even exist and is totally different then what you have listed, i wish that we all could get together and bring charges up on them the phone numbers that they gave me along with all these other people that i have talk to from that so call company  1-888-499-0864 and 1-734-547-5713 and the people that i spoke with was ms. jones, Sal Balotto, Marshell Thomas if these are there real names

    A man called my brothers house for me from this so called law firm, I do not know how they got  my brothers phone number. My brother gave me the number, so I called to find out why they were trying to contact me. The man I spoke to was very rude. He stated that I took out a pay day loan in 2008, and did not repay the company that sold them my account. I asked for their phone number he stated he didnt have the number. He stated i took out a loan for 400.00 but legal fees, interest and court cost amounted to 2,318.00. I paid that loan back, so I dont owe them anything. The company name I was supposed to have borrowed the money from is Platnum B Services. That name does not ring a bell. I advised that I wanted them to send me the information in writing, he stated he I woulkd receive a Summons for my county court office. This is clearly a scam ! He alos told me the company that was suing me had closed down. They have repeatedly called my house for the same matter atleast 10 times a day! This needs to stop.  The number they called from is 1-866-377-5362

    They call me just about every day with a robo call to my parents house.  We never answer.  I've heard out of state collectors can't prosecute anyways.  Luckily I'm in another state.  I feel if this was a legitimate company they would show up on my credit report, well they don't show up at all.  Just crazy that they never give up.  I would not be mad if I were you just don't play into their hands by getting mad.  All they can do is keep calling and calling for eternity.  Nothing they do can get me to answer my phone or my door.  I'll be hiding under the covers with the window open waiting for them to breach the front door.  It's going to take an army to get me to fall for some old scam involving a robo call.  You'll never get me crap heads who call my parent's house every day.  They don't even show up on my chexsystems report.  The bank allows a three hundred dollar overdraft well that was stupid of them.  Obama put a stop to these loan shark type bank transactions and I thank him.  That's the news from lake cedar wear all the children are strong, the women are good looking, and the men are above average.

    Yes I have received a phone call from a Mr Ian Smith from this law firm called Shapiro & Price in New York and phone is 1888-499-0864. He said I had fraud something to do with any way I never took out no loan from no where. Can someone please help me with this matter? I will give you my phone number. Could you please get back to me on this as soon as you read this message?

    i have agree with everyone on this shapiro price they have to be stoped once and for all they said i had gotton ssome money from ttj company but it dont even ring a bell to me they said it was 550.00  but they will settle for $287.00  they think im going to put that on my debt card the are dead wrong this man  Ian smith is the one who was doing all the talking saying i will be summ to court and have to pay cout cost  the number they called from was 1-888-499-0864 check it out and see if this place is for real and get back to me on it

    This place is not real, I have contacted the BBB, Attorney General and the FTC and they are an unaccredited debt collection agency, and have an f rating, numerous fraud claims. Mr. Bob Carson almost got me yesterday, Thank god my Husband is smart. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!! THEY ARE CONS!!!

    Got the same phone call today, but only they called my room mates place of work and left a message with his company, how they got his work number i will never know, i have never called it myself much less know what the number to his work is.. they told his boss that i must get in touch with them within 24hrs or a warrant for my arrest would be issued for tax fraud. First off, the IRS will get in touch with you and not a law firm. Did some investigation and it turns out to be a fraud scam. Please everyone, don fall for this. give out your card number or other information and you will lose more than you could imagine.
    What puzzles me is how they got my room mates work number.....

    OMG! This happened to me the exact same situation. They called my mother and told her I was going to be charged with bank fraud because I didn't pay back a check to Advance America. I called them and asked to be sent an actual letter showing the debt and the account number to verify it with Advance America. He asked for my email but not my address or phone numbers and I didn't get any emails. I'm thinking it's a scam I'm not sending money!!!

    Yes, I know what you mean. That Ian Smith just called me this morning and left a message on my voicemail saying he sent some document to the county and I will be charged for court fee plus what he saying I owe now they are using this address PO Box 611 Amherst New York 14226.

    I was contacted by Shapiro and Price last July by a man going by the name of Marshall Thomas he said he was working on behalf of a company I owed $800.00 to. I was told they were getting ready to take me to court and I would owe up to $10,000.00 and could spend time in jail. So I was threatened into paying $100.00 a month by direct debit from my checking account. In November I starting asking for a confirmitation letter stating our agreement.I never received that letter so after they took out a payment in December 2010 I called them and told them if I did not receive the letter I was stopping payments to them, again I never received the agreement letter and I had to go to the bank and close my account and open a new account so they no longer had access to my money. Now I am once again receiving threatening phone calls, saying I am going to jail for check fraud because  closed my account and that I am going to be sued for close to $10,000.00 dollars. I have now filed complaints with the FTC, the NY Attorney General, my local authorities and with the NY BBB. These people got $500.00 dollars from me and I also called the original people I owed the money to and they told me who the debt was sold to and gave me their number so I called them and they said they never heard of Shapiro and Price and told me they charged off my debt and my account was closed.
    Shapiro and Price are a scam and I to plan on contacting an attorney!

    You have determined that they have no legal right to demand money from you, so all that they obtained from you was through fraud.

    You can dispute fraudulent charges to your checking account through your bank up to 60 days from the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge, under FRB Reg. E, which covers EFT including electronic debits.

    You might still be within that 60 day period on one of your debits.

    Since they are now impersonating the IRS and the Justice Department, report this to the FBI.

    These aren't some overseas Indian scammers.  They are in the U.S., in Buffalo, NY.  Some FBI agent could probably walk down the street and check them out on his coffee break.

    these people r crazy. they'll call my parents house asking for me. I haven't lived their in 17 yrs now. then they will call my CELL PHONE and say i have to pay this amount or go to court. i am going crazy with all of these calls. I want them to stop now.
