help to stop forclosure?

Our mortgage was sold to Bank of America about a year and a half ago. Being self employed and with the economy the way it is, i had a little trouble making my mortgage payment. I got 2 months behind and was about to be 3 behind when i did some work and was able to make all 3 payments. We called to make the 3 payments and were told that they had already started forclosure. They wouldn't talk to us or take our payments, we were to contact the lawyer handling the forclosure. Keep in mind we were never notified that it was going into forclosure.  So we contacted the lawyer and got the ok for BofA to work out a deal. A deal was worked out, almost doubling our payment for 6 months and changing our due date. we made 3 months of payments no problem. the 4th month we were late but made the payment.the 6th month we called to make the last large payment and were told that since we were late with the 4th payment that the contract had been canceled and that the due date went back to the origional date. so, we have to pay late fees for 2 months of late payments and other fees.
I dont see how this supposedly reputable bank, can get away with screwing hard working people that just want to have a piece of the pie like everyone else without any notice, change things around so that they can charge more money from people that were stuggling to make the payment they had before the screwing. Don't they know that the economy is in rough shape right now? Don't they already have enough forclosures? My guess is that they just don't care. They have money and have the american consumer by the cahoneys.
I hope this somehow finds its way to a BofA ceo, although I know for a fact that i'm not the only dissatisfied customer, i doubt they will care.
