Reward Me More Structure @ 409-682-7335
Complaint
Peter Blns.
Country: United States
An unauthorized debit as shown up on my bank statement for $33.87 credited to Reward Me More Structure. I DO NOT KNOW who this is or why they would have access to my account. I am currently in the process of attempting to get this issue cleared up. The number 409-682-7335 is the one that my bank gave me to call to inquire about the charge.
Comments
Use the proper terminology when disputing thru your bank. This was not some "accident", or "billing error". Fraudulent, not merely "unauthorized".
With the latter, they will just send you on the wild goose chase of contacting the "merchant" yourself, and you either go round and round escalating complaints until they cave with no penalty for the fraud, or they just string you along until after 60 days from your statement, and your bank is off the hook. What's left? Suing over $33, and probably in some other state? Not likely, and they know it.
File a fraudulent charge dispute with your bank, IN WRITING to preserve your Fair Credit Billing Act rights. Mail it to the bank address shown on your statement for disputes, not the payment address. Include a copy of your statement indicating the fraudulent charge. Request a fraud affidavit and send it in.
Also call your bank immediately to close that account due to fraud, and switch to a new account number to prevent future fraudulent charges.
If your bank fails to properly follow the FCBA requirements for handling disputed charges, you are not responsible for the first $50, even if you did actually owe it. But you first have to dispute in the manner required by FCBA, in writing, with the written dispute received by your bank within 60 days of the statement date showing the disputed charge.
In addition, file complaints with FTC, your state AG, and the AG of the state they are located in.
