She lied. That is your first clue.
"Well she told me that I was a preferred customer "
You are a preferred patsy.
Never trust strangers calling you on the phone.
People lie, mostly to steal money.
There are a number of fraudulent magazine subscription telemarketers known for cramming fraudulent charges on consumer checking accounts.
Often their fraudulent pitch begins as you have reported, trying to pretend you already do business with them. Sometimes they are trying to cut in front of the publisher that you may already be subscribing through, but there are also reports of such fraudulent telemarketers illegally buying account information and using it to make deceptive calls, trying to record something they can claim is your "authorization" for their charges. This is highly illegal, basically theft and wire fraud, but it apparently happens with the sleaziest of these scumbags.
As in all cases of fraudulent charges, IMMEDIATELY contact your bank to report the fraudulent charge, and close the account or block the card number to prevent additional fraud. Follow up with a fraud affidavit sent to your bank to confirm the fraud in writing.
Your bank can reverse disputed charges if you dispute within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge, under FRB Reg. E or FCBA. That is why you dispute IMMEDIATELY through your bank. These scams will try to string you along with threats, promises of a "refund", or claims they are "investigating", but those are all LIES. Their goal is to run out the 60 day clock, after which you could sue (SOL 1 year), but no one will do so because of the cost compared to the loss.
Stop talking to them. They set out to steal your money, already had your account information, probably bought illegally from some other shady merchant you might have done business with, and all they will do is threaten you and lie to you until they get to keep your money.
You dispute immediately through your bank, you get your money back. Wait for your "refund", they win. That is their "business model".
