I unwillingly subscribed to the MTN Play service 'Ask the Sangoma'. Without stating when or howmuch this would cost, MTN have automatically deducted money from my airtime. This will continue until I unsubscribe from the service.
I have trawled the MTN website and my phone options in an attempt to find out how to unsubscribe from this service to no avail. The absence of this information has led me to believe that this is a deliberate scheme set up by MTN and as a customer I feel swindled.
How can MTN offer this service without declaring the cost of it and how to unsubscribe up front?!


Please unsubscribe me from the service in box messages and stop deducting my air time,I get free smses for weather/lotto daily 4rm my BBM.if u dnt unsubscribe me then I wil have no choice bt to change my sim card to another network coz I nw I have to by airtym nd make sure its al used same time to avoid u guys 4rm deducting it... Thankx...

    I am having similar experience. Mtn has craftily avoided supplying the necessary information should clients desire to unsubscribe and opt out. Surreptitiously one's airtime money is deducted automatically while helpless and caged in. Shame on you for unwholesome behaviour.

    Mtn owes its customers that obligation to explain how to unsubscribe from mtnplay should the need arise; as is the case with their other products/services. Or is mtnplay a huge scam aimed at defrauding unsuspecting customers? I tell you there is a dire need to migrate to a client-friendly network and the time is right now!

    mine is becoming too much. u just load a card to make a call n mtn automatically renews ur subscription, its too much for mtn fraud.

    mine is the same. I don't even need this daily news update, when one has access to bbc, cnn full news on daily basis both on tv, radio and other rss news feed through the internet. Let mtn stop this subscription genenerally and make it voluntary. Afterall I didn't subscribe to it.

    I am sick and tired of being short-changed by mtn in the name of BBC NEWS subscription.I didn't renew my subscription,but mtn took my money and sent me a message that my subscription was successful.Mtn did provide any link to opt out.Please,stop any further deductions!
