On June 4 we rented a vehicle from Thrifty. After waiting for them to bring us the vehicle to be inspected it never happened. When returning the vehicle after 6 days we drove in and an inspection was being done. The employee stated there was a scratch under the light of the vehicle. We stated that nothing happen when we had this vehicle and no inspection was done prior to us taking the vehicle.

A month later our credit card was charged unauthorized for 150.00 stating that we damaged the vehicle. We had gotten a parking ticket while in Miami which wasn't due to 07/08/08. The parking ticket was paid prior to that day. Thifty charged our credit card a fee of 25.00 stating it was processing fees. Which they had nothing to do with according to DADE County police department.

    I will list the problems in order of occurance

    1  Refused to honor the booking price
    2  gave my wife the lot beater
    3  air conditioner would not cool (witnessed by several people.
    4  Charged my credit card before service
    5  She called Thrifty several time no cars no drivers etc
    6  She was told to call back on monday when some cars would be returned
    7  thrifty said drive back to the airport and see what they could do
    8  I called them and said they better get a car to her PDQ
    and I wanted 4 days credit on the contract.
    9  Thrifty delivered a car and didnt do a walk around, but he did tell her there would not be a credit if everything was ok.
    10  Guess what that's right they said all was ok, what about the people that rode in the car they were all hot.
    11  she now has a good rental but the first was bad

    The managers at thrifty were abusive and talk down to her.
    The main vp would not  even call me.

    There is no cusomer service there
    They take advantage of women traveling alone
    Women are ignored when they complain
    They over charge your CC
    Both cars were dirty (one of staff said they could clean it  up if she wanted to wait 3 or 4 hours

    No one should rent a car from these folks

    I feel for the prices they charge they should honor the contract not amend it.  Futhermore the car should be there clean and checked out before hand.

    The aircondition should be a given at outside temps at 93.
    The customer and the people who ride in the auto would know
    if the air was not  cold.  They were stalling over the weekend because there were no cars.  She did excatly what the weekend manager told her.

    I guess the 4 days she could not use the car means nothing to Thrifty, they still get the money. I asked for 3 days and was told no.  So now I am asking for the full time the car was setting.  (4 days)

    As travelers stand up for what is just, because this company has 00.00% ethics.  I went to the net and there are many complaints about this SLC outfit.

    Dont sign anything inless you get a copy, because they will change it to suit them. Well the direspect they showed to my wife is unforgivable.  I could add many many more things they did to make every step of this rental to cause problems for the renter.

    On Monday they delivered a car with an acceptable aircondition.  This second car work fine and no complains.  They trusted her and the riders to check out the air on a good car..

    She is leary to check it in, because she doesnt want the greif.
