I, too, have been charged $14.95 for the monitoring service. I called 1-866-408-4016 and spoke to a Raymond Robinson. Initially he asked me for my SSN; I said that I have a transaction number from my credit card bill. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR ENTIRE SSN OVER THE PHONE. He then asked for my name, last 4 digits of my SSN (which I DID give him), and e-mail address. He found my acct and started asking, "But why would you want to cancel..." I didn't let him get any further and just said, "It doesn't MATTER why; just CANCEL my acct." He said, "Fine; it's been canceled." We'll see... And if it isn't, I'll just call him (or whoever answers the phone; I suspect it won't be him) back next month...

If you didn't authorize their charges, dispute it as fraudulent with your bank, so they can reverse the charges, and close the account to prevent additional fraud.

I WAS ABLE TO CANCEL today.  Yesterday I read through the terms and conditions at the creditreport.com website.  They are very long and the specific information needed to cancel a membership is not provided until the end of the page.  Basically, their terms state that you have agreed to be charged monthly or annually INDEFINITELY without renewal, until the account is canceled.  The charges are for their credit monitoring service, that supposedly you signed up for when you used any of their services.

It was tough to find the information on how to contact their customer service to be able to cancel the account.  The number is:  866-883-3309.  I called this morning, provided my information, and they canceled my account, and canceled all future monthly billings (I confirmed that).  They did try to upsell me to a more extensive service, but I simply rejected the offer.
They gave me a cancellation number and then I received an email to confirm the cancellation.  I called back and they said I don't need to worry about the email because the account is already canceled.  I recorded the phone call, and now I have confirmation.

The terms and conditions say that no refunds will be provided, outside of their trial period (and I don't know how long that is).  But I'm going to contact my credit card and take care of it that way.
