This machine is horrible.  It doesn't clean the clothes because there is hardly any water in it during the wash cycle.  You can only put 4 or 5 items, more than that the machine stops mid-cycle.  Sometimes the clothes aren't wet when you have to rearrange them to get the cycle to start again.  How is this energy efficient if have to do 5 times as many loads.  Why does the cycle take so long to do so little,

WE purchased this washer in 2013 and it has been tearing clothing, especially fine fabrics, ever since.  This is irrespective of setting used.  We have also experienced the poor washing, which is not that unusual for so-called "high-efficiency" washers.  Apparently Maytag has responded to the complaint about low water levels by making the new models with doors (or lids, as you might call them on top-loaders) that lock shut until the cycle is over!  That way you cannot see the water level.  I guess the laugh is on us.
