They leave this stupid telephone number on my caller ID [says from California: 626-000-2989].  However, there is no area code in CA for this area code. I too have repeatedly contacted the Do Not Call list.  At this point, where it will do any good or not, am contacting the FBI to see what they have to say.

In this type of scam, they try to turn some "review" of your credit situation into a coerced "agreement" to pay for their "services", using threats or account numbers obtained through their "review" to extort around $600-$800 from consumers.

The caller id phone number is clearly fake.  This type of fraudulent telemarketer knows they are violating the Do Not Call law, nor do they want to be located.  They just want to get your money.

I have been getting calls from credit card services sometime 3 times a day. these people do not care about the DO NOT CALL list and have even told me that when I informed them that I was on the list. I have turned them into the Federal Trade Commission.

    The Bell Ringer
I have decided that after 9 month of calls 5 times a wekk that I wioll have fun. I have a 6 inch brass ship's bell in my basement. When they call and the automatic caller starts the routine I walk the phone to the basement. I press whatever number they need to get to real person. When they answer I have phone inside bell and ring it 4-5 times. It's loud and will deafen a person on phone for a few minutes. Once they actually called me back to complain and I told them to expect the same next time. They said I could be sued. I said please do. I will continuie to deafen people with the hope it causes permanent damage. Maybe then my phone number will be "lost" to these cretins.
