It's a common fake "payday loan debt collection" scam.

The criminals are playing this con, both from within the US, and from overseas.
You can never trust any stranger who calls you on the phone demanding money.
A "hotmail" email address is also an indicator that you are dealing with a scam, unless you directly know the person.
Phone threats are an indictator of a con, nothing more.
The con men are out there, and any crook with a phone, ANYWHERE in the world, can play this game.

Real debt collectors mail you a letter notifying you of the alleged debt, and allow you to dispute it and request proof.

Real lawsuits result in a process server serving a summons.

If you owe a payday loan, pay the lender directly, and ignore all phone calls or emails saying otherwise.

If you are paying this scam instead of, or in addition to, the actual lender, immediately contact your bank to block the account or card number, and file fraud disputes with your bank against any payments made.

Stephen Rogers has sent me emails that are scam emails, the last one he threatened to come to my place of employment and serve me with a law suit.  I emailed him back and asked for his credentials and a contact phone number so my attorney could call him and he has not responded.  Will keep you posted.

I have also gotten emails from Rogers Stephen that are scam.  The website at the bottom of his emails is a bogus website.  I've also gotten alleged court summons that contains a virus which was thankfully caught by my anti-virus software.
