Bed Bugs
Complaint
Ana
Country: United States
We purchased a King size double Bob O Pedic mattress. After a few months of an allergic reaction, we took the bed apart and found out we had bed bugs. My husband and I never have experienced this problem before. Contacted Customer Service and they are giving us the run around, they even went as far as saying"Their warehouse is so clean you can eat from their floor" What, is the employee telling me, my home is dirty???? Law suit should be filed based on all of the complaints I'm reading. I'm contacting an attorney soon.....

We've reviewed current research and have consulted with professional, and knowledgeable Entomologists who have cleared up a lot of misconceptions about these critters.
People often correlate bed bugs with furniture or “dirty places”, current research finds that bed bugs do not originate from new furniture however, evidence does suggest that bed bugs are commonly found in areas such as, college dormitories, nursing homes, movie theatres, hotels and they can even go undetected in a home for months hiding in/under carpets, curtains and wallpaper.
Please also feel free to review the CDC’s (Center of Disease Control) government website that will provide you with additional information regarding this epidemic.

While we can appreciate your concern, please rest assured that Bob’s Discount Furniture takes great pride in our reputation and will exhaust all efforts to protect it.
Thanks, Eric.
You should know that recently my brother purchased a "brand new bed" from Bob's and it was discovered the bed indeed had bed bugs! Evidence may "SUGGEST" that bed bugs are commonly found in college dorms, nursing homes, movie theatres and hotels etc...however my family has not been in any of those places since living in the home they are in now and they've been there for over a year. Not a single problem like this until receiving their bed that was purchased from Bob's. Upon this discovery my brother went to his doctor who confirmed they were bed bugs and that the sourse was most likely the recently purchased mattress! And this isn't the first problem they had with their purchase! When the bed was originally purchased the delivery men brought the wrong bed, then CHARGED my family to redeliver the correct item! Now, how is that good customer service? A consumer paying for a delivery error? Then after going a week with no bed when the bed did finally arrive it was way past the scheduled delivery time! Even without the bed bug issue, I don't call this good customer service at all! Now back to the bed bug issue....all my brother is asking for is a new bed, which Bob's REFUSES to supply! Now, after researching this online I find it very interesting that there are MANY complaints very similar to these out there! I find it hard to believe that all of these consumers are wrong! Considering the treatment we have been getting from Bob's from the beginning, I tend to disagree with your above statement entirely and agree with those who I don't know who have almost the exact same complaints that I have. Please know this has been directed to the Department of Consumer Affairs and my family has consulted an attorney!
Weird how that happens isn't it.
