A month ago I paid my final installment on an old Spiegel Account from 2004. I paid over 3,600.00 in 100.00 dollar monthly payments. I have been waiting for a letter from this office with acknowledgement that the judgment has been paid in full. I also have requested that all three credit reporting agencies are notified of payment in full. I am afraid that she will try to collect from me again in three or four years. Do I actually have to show up at her office for a proof of payment statement?

    They have a history of complaints alleging they may be filing lawsuits and obtaining default judgements through "sewer service".

    If you are having problems receiving a final statement showing that the debt is fully paid, contact your state Attorney General.

      Since this is a law firm, you can also file a complaint with the state bar association.
