(347)390-0994 called my cell phone and left a message.  I called back before listening to message and a woman I could barely understand answered saying she was and IRS agent and the IRS filed a lawsuit against me for $5000 in unpaid taxes after the re-audited my account from 2010-2015.  argued with her she hung up.  Called back a man answered (again barely understandable due to accent) they could not give me specifics only kept asking if I wanted to settle out of court or take to court.  getting frustrated I started using foul language and he told me to stop, when explaining my rights under the Constitution of free speech he said he would have a cop here shortly to arrest me for this.  By the end of the conversation he was cussing me out.  When I pointed this out he said I was pissing him off and he was calling the cops, and then hung up on me.  Listening to VM later it was a Caucasian male computer voice trying to scare me into calling the number back.  The last thing it said was "...if i do not hear from you or your attorney all I can say is I wish you good luck as this situation unfolds on you."

The IRS sends letters via the mail or agents directly to you.  They do not call individuals via telephone.  This is a scam attempt.

I got the same message as ms above.  It sounds like a computer generated voice saying calling from legal dept of IRS about a criminal case filed against. me.  Sounded like he said his name was Samuel Wiseman, gave a case number and ended the same way as above. "if i do not hear from you or your attorney all I can say is I wish you good luck as this situation unfolds on you."   Not calling him back. I believe it is a scam.

I just received a call from this number as well and the male voice which was very hard to understand tried to tell me that I had an IRS case filed against me and that he was from a police agent. I didn't even let him finish his story and told him that I would wait for a letter from the IRS and hung up on him. This is definitely a scam!

I got the same message. I know from previous experience, that the IRS only sends letters. I decided to call back anyway. A woman with a thick Indian accent answered. I just hung up.
