torn/holes in clothes

So my 5 year old Whirlpool front loader has decided to rip holes in my clothes. They happen to be expensive jerseys and Under Armour clothes. I'm beside myself.
When I called Whirlpool today, they told me they have NEVER had complaints about this issue....hmmmm--that's not what I see on here!
Is there a fix to this problem?!
