Scam

Three years ago I bought a beautiful Maytag side by side SS fridge..was $2000..got it on sale for $1299..last week ice maker making strange noise every 10 mins..stopped making ice..wait 5 days for technician to come out..can't obviously unplug the fridge to make noise stop and the ice maker will not shut off..so finally get someone to check it out..I didn't purchase a warranty..looks like the fridge needs a new main brain/circuit board..cost of the part $1100..wow is this a joke? Tech tells me just as I watched it on CBC's marketplace...people today are tossing out brand new appliances BC parts cost more than buying a new appliance. No brand is any better than another. Such a scam..big business getting richer..I'm done buying new appliances..whether you buy the warranty or you don't you will still pay double the purchase price in the end..I'm done feeding this corrupt moster my hard earned money
