Poor quality....Dishonesty of salesperson.......
Complaint

I spent about $2900.00 on living room furniture. Salesperson promised that England furniture was of better quality than Lazyboy with which I had always had satisfaction. Showed me a sofa and loveseat in the store that my special ordered furniture was going to look like. When picking up the furniture I was asked if I saw any flaws or wrinkles in the stapled fabric or any problems. I thought this was strange . I had them tweek a couple of things. Already prepaid, I took my furniture home. Both pieces reclined.. After 2 weeks I started seeing wear on the sofa...after two weeks...... My husband said they are not going to do anything about it so I didn't complain. As the months went on the cushioning went flatter and flatter. One of the seams came unsewn and I felt it was time to complain . Also the furniture looked nothing like the furniture I saw in the store. That furniture had skirting around the bottom. I went in the store and talked to the salesman I bought it from. When I mentioned the skirting, he said On the picture he gave me there was no skirting so I should not expect any. But why did he tell me my furniture would look like the furniture in the store with skirting. The furniture looked really worn whereever you sat and mashed flat. Obviosly the cushioning was of very poor quality and was really disappointing. We have no small children or pets...just me and my husband. Talked with different salespeople from Delmar Furnitureland with no satisfaction except for an offer to replace the cushioning with the same inferior materials. This was offered when someone was sent to sew up the seam. Not a year old yet, the furniture is looking worse and the son of the owners finally came to my house to look at my furniture and said the reason why the cushions were mashed flat was because we had laid down on the sofa. He tried too tell me your not supposed to lay on a sofa. You should sit squarely on the cushion and only recline on the ends. not lay on the length of the sofa.Totally disgusted, I looked at my husband and he said it looks like we're screwed and that's the way I felt. I tell everyone I know of my experience and tell them "don't shop at Furnitureland, Delmar, DE. " I would not buy a dog bed from them. They would probably tell me the dog had to squarely sit on the bed to insure even wear and I wouldn't expect the dog bed to look anything like the dog beds in the store....uggghhh

I personally made three visits to your home to evaluate your concerns back in 2009. During my third visit, I actually brought a factory representative from England Furniture. All of us are aware of the true findings during that evaluation, and out of respect for you, we would never review those details in this forum. At this point, we have not heard from you since 2009. As I demonstrated by personally visiting your home and reviewing the proper use and expectations for the furniture you purchased, we are truly committed to our customer's satisfaction. I am not aware of many companies that care enough to have an owner come out to personally evaluate products. We sell thousands of England products every year, and serve thousands of Delmarva residents with virtually no issues. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, I am available at 302-846-0777 ext. 126.
Respectfully,
Justin B. Barnes
