Credit card charges without invoicing

I hired a car at the Lisbon airport and I was told that within 2 weeks of delivering the car I would receive and invoice for toll gate charges, Well I never received an invoice but EUROPCAR took money from my account and now that its 3 months later I cannot claim that money from my employer.
The law should protect customers from being financially abused like this. Advice to all:- BE VERY CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!
