I too got drawn into the EZ cheap pricing trap. When I dropped car yesterday at Sea Tac Airport in Seattle, was told by agent after checking mileage and gas that there was "damage" on car.

I asked her to show me - I knew that I had had no incident with the vehicle so was quite surprised. My surprise turned into shock and dismay, as she pointed to an area that looked to me discolored from dirt on the rear fender behind driver.

I said I didn't see anything, but she got down on her knees, tilted her head a certain way, and pointed to area from her viewpoint in a certain angle of light. I was finally able to see a slight change in texture as well as coloration in that area.

She said it was a scrape. I immediately pointed out to her that when I did the check before driving off of their parking lot, which was dark I might add, the car was wet from washing, I did not have a flashlight, or a magnifying glass, nor did I get down on my knees and tilt my head a certain way like she did to check for damages.

My bad luck it turns out. EZ has already booked 6 separate charges onto my two different credit cards (used one for the reservation and changed it to pay on another upon drop off), before I or my auto insurance company have even heard from their claims department!

Makes me wonder how many claims have been made on this same "damaged" vehicle. Car renters be warned!!!! Cheap prices are a draw, but only worth it if your own auto insurance deductible is low enough to cover ANY eventualities that may crop up.
