Why am I receiving this notice?

On January  28th 2016   Wee received a garnishment order from a court to [freeze/remove] funds in your account. The amount of the garnishment order was for $750. We are sending you this notice to let you know what we have done in response to the garnishment order. You can contact your creditor for settlement amount.

What is garnishment?

Garnishment is a legal process that allows a creditor to remove funds from your [bank]/[credit union] account to satisfy a debt that you have not paid. In other words, if you owe money to a person or company, they can obtain a court order directing your bank JPMORGAN CHASE BANK, NA  to take money out of your account to pay off your debt. If this happens, you cannot use that money in your account.

What has happened to my account?

On , we researched your account and identified one or more Federal benefit payments deposited in the last 2 months. In most cases, Federal benefit payments are NOT   protected from garnishment. As required by Federal regulations, therefore, we have established a “protected amount” of funds that will remain available to you and that will be [frozen/removed] from your account in response to the garnishment order.
You may contact the creditor that garnished your account and explain that additional funds are from You may also consult an attorney (lawyer) to help you prove to the creditor who garnished your account that additional funds are from Federal benefit payments and cannot be taken

If the Federal Government was making garnishment they wouldn't contact you via Email I think they would U S Mail it to you. They don't even have a 1 - 800 number to contact them. No address or firm name. Please try another person not me. They would have a better chance of catching cancer from a cancer patient than to scam me

OH WOW... I received the same email last week and I replied to see what they had to offer. They went on to tell me to go ahead and send partial payment via money gram but gave no info or codes to use when sending. I emailed back to ask for a scanned copy of the LEGAL GARNISHMENT PAPER WORK!!! I have yet to receive a reply also I corrected their spelling and grammar as well as punctuation's. First it was the IRS calls ow this!!! So this is definitely a scam but it is so scary cause they have all our information.

I received the same email. I also emailed them demanding a validation of debt. I've yet to receive anything. The address that's listed for them on their website is an address for a completely different company with a different phone number.

It begins "Dear Debtor" - you are not specifically named.
"District Court" - of what city/county/parish/municipality?
This sort of notice would be sent to you via snail mail - not emailed!
