Control Panel

About 18 months ago I spent almost $1000 on a KitchenAid dishwasher (made by Whilpool), It has broken down three times - control panel replacement. We have gone months without a dishwasher because Whirlpool does not provide parts in a timely manner. We are currently on a 10 day wait. I took out a 20 year dishwaswher that worked just fine to replace it with this stainless steel piece of junk. Dealing with Whilpool and their service arm is completely frustrating. Having gone through the same issue three times we can tell when the control panel has gone out. You tell the service company the problem, then wait one-to two weeks for them to check for themselves. Guess what "it is the control panel." The part has to be orderedt and it will take at least 10 days to get it. Then you can call for service again - to wait another week or so for a technician to show up. You will be down at least a month. I wonder how accomodating Jeff Fettig (CEO) would be if it was him doing the dishes. Consumers beware KitchenAid has major issues with their hidden control panels on their dishwashers. They do not have parts available in the U.S. or the parts are being replaced at such an alarming rate, they can't keep them in stock. Service level and response is horrendous. Don't buy a Whirlpool coporate brand product - KitchenAid, Maytag, etc. or do at your own high level of customer dissatisfaction.
