Hundreds of scratches on wood table

I purchased a wood table from Art Van in 2016.  I was concerned about the table scratching and asked many questions about it. The saleswoman assured me that the finish would resist scratch from normal use (not taking a knife to table) and also encouraged me to purchase an additional warranty for the finish, which I did.  A year later, and the able tables  has HUNDREDS of scratches from normal use. I made a warranty call and Art Van came out,  and the guy was surprised at how many scratches the table had, took pictures, and told me to call the Warranty department in a couple days. I called on Nov. 17, 2017 and was told it was not covered by the warranty, even the extended warranty we purchased.  If they cannot fix table, they should at least refund me the warranty i bought since it did absolutely nothing.
