STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOME SERVICE COMPANY THESE ARE THE GUYS THAT SEARS, LOEWS, HOME DEPOT ETC. USES

Last week our refrigerator broke and I called Sears for service. The web site stated that the $65.00 diagnostic fee would be included as a part of the work, NOT ADDED AS AN EXTRA FEEL.

The Tech spent 5 minutes pulling a bad unit (about the size of a box of candy) and another minute putting it back.
The bill was 80.00 for the part plus $200.00 to install it.

The guy also made disparaging comments both sexist (said he traded out work for sex) and racist, including a nasty comment about one of my neighbors who is Hispanic.

I have tried to get a full refund for 138.00 that I believe I was overcharged but they won't do it. STAY AWAY

    Your numbers dont match, these big companies charge around $130 as a diagnostic fee, if they do a repair or not. that covers them if they go to your home and you change your mind. (it does happen, I know that sounds crazy...) but what should have then happened is an estimate drawn up outlining the charges. usually the minimum labor is the same price as the diag. fee, so one cancel's the other out. (so you dont get hit twice) if its too expensive to repair, its the diag fee and goodbye, if you accept the charges, ok, deal. labor and part prices are usually set and not variable, so time to repair is not a factor.     IF THERE WAS A DEROGITORY STATEMENT MADE IT SHOULD BE REPORTED IMMEADIATLY. WE DONT LIKE WORKING WITH CO-WORKERS LIKE THAT ANY MORE THAN A CUSTOMER LIKES DEALING WITH THEM.

    A&E Factory service rips people off all the time. Had bad experince with them concerning a Maytag washer in KY.  Maybe we should stop buying from manufaturs of products who have them on the their approved list for repairs.
