I have received a series of phone calls from this company Portfolio Recovery associates concerning some old past due account from over 15-years ago with Verizon and North American Bank. These dont appear on my credit report and are very old accounts. I have advised her I will not pay or make arrangments to pay she told me they are still collectible I used to collect debts and know this company is in volation of the fair debt collection practices act. sec-810-ILCS 5/2 725 (UCC)and I have filed a complaint with FDCPA concerning this matter and plan to file a law suite
I will send a C-D letter and keep call log from and even start taping my coversations with them.

    Send a cease communications letter, mailed certified.

    If they keep harassing you after that, file FDCPA violation complaints with FTC and your state AG, and sue them for violating FDCPA.
