Alpine Direct Services
Complaint
shorty
Country: United States
United Recovery Services called me today about a payday loan from Alpine Direct Services, said I got a loan on my prepaid card. This loan was from time ago they can not give me the exact date of the loan, it was by another name at the time and they want me to make payment arrangements for this large amount or they going to sue me for soo much more. When I start asking questions about this company they could not give me any information unless I make a payment arrange with them first. I said no because I was not sure if this was true or not, once I told them I will call them back once I do some digging about Alpine Direct the tone in the voice got nasty and I was told I was going to court, because I refuse to make arrangements. I just told them I will call them back by Monday with an answer.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
