Does anyone know the Verizon number 718 829 9214.  I've recorded some very rude messages from Rasheem from an unknown number now calls from this 718 number at work (number not allowed unknown at work).


Does anyone know who these people are?

    The number doesn't show up in Google searches, which is strange for an actual debt collector, since those usually have many complaints against their numbers, and it is usually easy to find which large debt collector they are from complaint reports.

    There has been a criminal phony "debt collection" gang with connections to India, who have been making threatening calls attempting to extort unowed payments from U.S residents.  ABC News did a story on them, and several state attorneys general have had warnings out about them.  

    Their typical tactics include threatening immediate arrest or criminal charges, claiming to be police, detectives, or attorneys, often using laughable legal nonsense language or made-up law enforcement agency names, supposedly in connection with unpaid payday loans.  There are reports of illegal harassment with work calls in connection with these criminals.  

    They may have access to old U.S. consumer credit report information.  Many consumers have complained of receiving their calls even though they have never had a payday loan, or have even confirmed that any loan they had was paid, by calling the original lender.

    What exactly do your callers say?

    If you can't identify a company, list any strange wordage or phrasing indicating a non-US English speaker.  Often their language quirks are so uncommon Google can find similar complaints based on them.
