Sneaky/Misleading charges

I ordered a proactiv kit and decided to option for the 30 day free trial of vitaclear vitamins. Somehow, I missed the fact that after the free trial it keeps charging you something like 30 dollars a month. For some simple vitamins! I thought, perhaps I accidentally ordered overpriced vitamins, but I went back in my email and it didn't say anything about reoccurring orders. I'm asking for a receipt or a copy of the page I ordered from, because unless there was some really fine print, I don't see how on earth I could have missed such an obvious payment plan. It seems a little strange that you aren't emailed updates about the continuous shipments. By the time I received my second bottle of vitamins I had to check my bank account to see that I had paid 30 dollars. If you look at the ingredients, they're not that special, they're just vitamins. But it's not that I overpaid for vitamins, it's that I was seemingly tricked into it.

This is what happened when I inquired further. After canceling my shipments I had noticed the extra charges. I decided to call the customer support at proactiv to ask about the charges, and they transferred me to a separate call center. The first person I talked to supposedly had computer trouble and told me call again... she sounded stressed, now I know why. The next person I talked to immediately lawyered up when I asked about the hidden continuous charges. She got extremely defensive, and gave me some attitude about how I was supposed to read the fine print, in which it says you will be charged every month. I tried to ask if they got many complaints like mine, but she kept telling me if I wanted a refund, I could send my vitamins back. Honestly I don't blame her, she was probably just doing her job; fending off angry/confused customers like myself. I guess next time I sign up for anything, I need to read through the paragraphs of legal terms in 8pt font.
