734-385-4241 called my boyfriend this morning with a recording, and I called them back to try and find out who they were. The guy pretty much hung up on me after he asked if I was some Angela Something (I had told him his number was on my missed calls). BF and I are from Ann Arbor (the are that uses a 734 area code), so it seemed like maybe it wouldn't be a collection agency, but I guess it probably is. Internet search says it's located in Chelsea (not too far from here)

Recorded calls, and 20 times a day, is automated, and at levels that are harassing, regardless of whether they are calling for you or someone else.

Debt collectors who use the phone system for harassment, or cause a phone to ring repeatedly in order to harass, are violating the federal FDCPA.

File a complaint with FTC, and since you are both in Michigan, contact your state Attorney General.

If they don't cease calling, you could sue them.  Through your phone company, you should be able to find the company calling, or at least their phone company.  If necessary, you could sue them under FDCPA as "John Doe", then subpoena their phone company for their identity and records of their calls to your number.  You might find an attorney willing to take a case like this on contingency, since FDCPA allows for both statutory damages, and awarding of attorney fees.
