This was an email sent by the scammer:
    Quote:
My name is Sasha Barlett and I'm emailing you regarding the 2001 Toyota Tacoma TRD that I have for sale. It is in perfect condition, with no need for any additional repairs. The flawless exterior condition, no scratches, and no dents. It has never been involved in an accident. The interior is in very good condition, also the exterior. No accidents, Clear Title, great mileage: 90,867, VIN: 5TEPM62N91Z813918 and automatic transmission. The price for the car is $1,500(including free delivery and handling to your address).
I'm selling this car because my child of only 26 years died 2 months ago in a bike accident, the car belonged to my son and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it.
Me and my husband travel a lot with our business and we want to make this deal through eBay's Buyer Protection Program, so if you're interested in purchasing the car just reply me your full name, full address and phone number, so I can notify eBay. Once that is done, they will contact you in the next 24 hours to explain the entire procedure.

    Red flags:
    1.  Selling because of "bad memories" due to a death (fictional, of course).
    2.  Excuse to avoid meeting you - "(we) travel a lot"
    3.  Fake "eBay buyer protection" (eBay does not offer such a service to sales outside of their site).

Same thing. Yellow jeep and a person I messaged on FB forwarded me to her email. I got this nonsense.

"Hi, happy to see you're interested in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport, my name is Sasha Barlett and I'm a flight attendant. The price for the jeep is $800 firm including delivery at your address. It has 96,571 miles. The jeep is in great shape overall, never had any problems, doesn't have leaks or rust. The engine runs very well (4.0L V6), the automatic transmission shifts perfectly and the title is clean as well, under my name. The only reason for selling is that I don't really need it, I won it after the divorce with my ex-husband.
Because of my work schedule as a flight attendant I'm away most of the time and I can't manage this sale myself and I want to do this through eBay Motors. If you are interested, it's still available for sale. So if you have the money ready to buy it, email me back for more photos.

        Best regards!"

Thanks for the post.  I inquired about the veh prior to reading your post.  Her email sounded to good to be true so I researched and found your post.  What exactly is her angle?  Does she try to get someone to pay without seeing the vehicle, believing that it is going to be delivered?

That's it.  They want you to buy gift cards and send them the numbers from the back.  It's just like sending cash.

I don't think they'll come all the way from India or Africa, or wherever they actually are, to burglarize your house. They are indeed asking for money (as Skamkilla said, in the form of gift cards). The scammers claim they will ship the vehicle to you if you pay them first.

She is still going strong.  Now selling a 2002 Toyota Camry for $800! My mom had reposted the ad on Facebook I decided to check it out.  When my email was replied to, I knew it was a scam especially when she tried to say she in the military and going overseas.  I replied how it was a scam and if not bring the vehicle here and don't expect s dime until it's in my possession and I've ran a check on it..  she said ebay will give me shipping address... How can people do this stuff to others and still get away with it? It's crazy I'm gonna keep playing their game for awhile .. I'm bored what can I say...

Same is happening as we speak here is her email to me just a few mins ago…..
Hi again, as I've told you in my first e-mail, I'm in the army with my military medical team and right now I am in a military base. We are training, getting ready for leaving the country. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay services so my presence isn't necessary. The delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it there at your home address within 2-3 working days. It will come with a clear title and reg. You will have 5 days to test and inspect the car prior to make any purchase. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested so I can ask eBay to send you the details on this deal. If interested please include in your next email your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling.

She still at it I have this email
Hi again and thank you that you got back to me ,

As I have told you in my first email , I’m in the army and right now I am located at a military base in Nebraska. Before leaving, I prearranged a deal with eBay Motors, so my presence isn't necessary. The delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it at your home address within 2-3 working days. You must deposit the funds with eBay, and once they have it, they will not deliver it to me until you have received and tested it for five days. If you decide not to proceed with the transaction, you can always get your money back. I need to know if you are interested so I can ask eBay to send you the details regarding this deal. If you are interested, please reply with your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling. I will send your info to eBay and they will contact you and send you everything there is to know about how to close the transaction in the best terms possible for the both of us. You will find photos of the car in the attachment. These pictures are 100% accurate and they represent exactly what you will receive.

Looking forward to hear from you soon!

She has also said : Hello,

My name is Sasha and I'm emailing you about a 2011 Yamaha YZF-R6 with 22,180 miles. The bike is in perfect condition with clear title, no accidents, no loans and completely serviced. The engine runs very well (600) with manual transmission. My husband died 4 month ago and I don't know how to drive a bike.
The price is firm $800. I'm in a hurry to find a buyer because I don't need it and in a maximum of 2 weeks I will leave the country for a year on military duty with my medical team and I do not want to store it. I look forward to hearing from you.

      Best Regards,
      Sasha Barlett
