Numerous unsolicited phone calls despite being on no call list and telling them not to call.

I have received over 20 calls in the past few months.  My wife has been in the hospital 6 out of the last 8 weeks.  I have tried to explain this to them but they hang up and call back in a day or so.  My senators and representatives do not seem to even care, despite several emails on my part.  What can I do short of violence, to stop thes calls?

    Oh, you are soooo right! I have called my credit cards and they swear that they have nothing to do with these calls. They said that there are bogus outfits who make robocalls to go phishing. There are dumb people who do respond and give out information. You are also right that the Federal do not call registration is completely useless. Mainly because that registration does not apply to POLITICIANS and any merchant you have a legitimate business relationship with. Best thing is to look at the caller ID and ignore the call.
