unauthorized charges to my credit card

I had occasion to speak with a rep of this company. I don't even remember how it came about. She assured me when I received the welcome packet that I could cancel immediately and not be charged. I never received a welcome packet and I never received a confirmation email as I was promised. Then, three weeks or so later, I get a charge on my credit card for $27.95 from MON HOME SAVINGS 888-298-0214 MN. I called on a Saturday to cancel. Of course, they're only open M-F.
