This company continues to call on my cell phone - and I am not who they are trying to reach. They tell me I need to pay an outstanding debt from 2002 with First National Bank - and it is NOT my social!! I repeatedly tell them that that is not the last 4 of my social and they want me to give them my social - which I will NOT do! (do they think I'm crazy!) I have asked and asked for them to remove my phone number from their records and they refuse. I am going to have to go to the major inconvenience of changing MY number just so they will leave me alone!

Your complaint is consistent with common fake "debt" scams.  Some of these involve overseas callers, often with Indian accents, but others are apparently being run from within the U.S.

"First National Bank" is such a generic name that it commonly shows up in fake "payday loan debt collection" scams.

Claiming the "debt" is from "2002" is also suspicious, as it is way past the 7 year FCRA reporting period, and probably past state SOL in most states.

Having the wrong SSN, and in particular, claiming to have only the last 4 digits, is also suspicious, and common in reports of fake debt collection rackets.

As this is likely a fraudulent fake "debt" extortion racket, do NOT disclose any of your information.  You may, as you suggest, have to change your number.

What phone number do they call from?
What do they claim "MCM" stands for?
What names (probably aliases) do they use?
