I have been receiving back to back calls from this company at my workplace. I finally answered to tell them to stop calling. They were offering me a payday loan. I refused and he continued to try to get me to agree. I told this Rajid (P) person I wanted to speak with his manager and he said he is the manager. Then he said that if I didn't want to receive any more harrassing calls he was going to debit my bank account with a $200 cancellation fee. He informed me that he has my home address, bank account number and routing number. I told him no way and he said he was going to debit the money anyway. I hung up and immediately contacted my bank via online chat regarding this very upsetting situation. They informed me that if they debited my account I can dispute but advised me to change my checking account number which now results in me having to change everything including my payroll deposits and my car note auto draft. When are these jerks going to be stopped, fined and punished????

These creeps are overseas criminals, probably Indian.
Note how slickly he went rom the "payday loan" scam, to an outright extortion shakedown.
They also tend to be misogynistic, particularly targetting women for threats as part of their shakedowns.

Just because he said he has your information does not mean he actually has it.  He is trying to intimidate you by appearing to have "your information".  The Indian scammers think if they have your information they "own" you.   It's just BS.  He was attempting to con you into "voluntarily" paying this "$200 cancellation fee".

Your bank is right.  If you find a fraudulent charge, you can dispute it and the bank will reverse it.  That's why these scams can't use your personal account number or debit card number to just steal your money, even if they conned you into disclosing it.  They practically ALWAYS send victims to Walmart to get a prepaid debit card, or to Western Union to wire it so they can anonymously pick it up.

They typically get consumer info from sleazy or fake "payday loan" sites, so they often get name address, employer, phone numbers, bank account numbers, SSN, and DOB.  They usually use this, however, for phone shakedowns, rather than id theft.  If  you have entered that sort of information for an online payday loan, you might take actions to protect yourself, like closing accounts or placing a fraud alert on your credit reports, if it helps you sleep, but otherwise, it's more likely he was feeding you BS, like all the rest.

Watch your bank statements to catch fraudulent charges, but you want to do that anyway.  If you find something, ALWAYS dispute it through your bank, and have your bank shut down the account or block the card number.  NEVER attempt to recover fraudulent charges by going to the "company" that made them, as if it's a scam, they are set up to lie, cheat, and delay you as they try to run out the 60 day bank dispute clock.  Disputing through your bank, as the law allows, gives you the most protection and gets your money back.
