Top freezer warm, 20 deg.F

$850 for a 'frig that was good for all of 21/2 years; this does not include $89 for  service call to learn that to repair the evaporator panel will cost $400 to $700. This follows the failure (and replacement with GE) of a Maytag dishwasher recently which lasted 5 years. I have a 15 year old Haier freezer in my hot garage - no problems! I have a 10 year old Prius (a much more complicated technology) with 120K miles - no problems! What is Maytag's/Whirlpools problem?
