I was advised by this idiot I got a cash advance sent to my Bank in Baltimore, and the check sent was no good, I never applied for a cash advance and besides if a check sent was bad they should go after the person or company who sent the bad check, not me I did not write the check or most of all try to get a cash or payday advance.
Have Mr. Chrusty find another line of work, I hate attornies and will go up against them in court any time. The burdon of proof is on him False accusations can be hit real hard

They are very active in these scams, making lots of threats, claiming to be "attorneys", "investigators", "officers", or whatever.
If they have thick Indian accents, they are probably calling from India or Pakistan, running this scam from overseas.
There are also similar scams run from the U.S. Dateline did an expose on one out of Buffalo a few years ago, before they were shut down and prosecuted for larceny by the NY AG.
Legitimate debt collectors will send you a letter within 5 days notifying you of the alleged debt, and of your right to dispute and obtain validation of it, as required by FDCPA.
People who call on the phone and make threats to get money, about "debts" you know nothing about, and do not comply with federal and state debt collection laws, are called "criminals".
File a complaint with your local police to document the extortion attempt.
If they have thick accents, file a complaint with your local FBI office.

At the request of the Federal Trade Commission, a U.S. district court has halted an operation that the FTC alleges collected phantom payday loan “debts” that consumers did not owe. Consumers received millions of collection calls from India, and that since January 2010 the operation took in more than $5 million from victims, according to the FTC.
