Threatening phone calls indicating that I am summonsed for a complaint
Complaint
Kristine Griley
Country: United States
My daughter got a call from these people. She said they were very rude. They called from 877-306-1807 and cited a case number. She warned me by text, and I received a message shortly after this. The message was rude, and after looking them up, I found that there was a lot of information regarding this company and fraud. The complaints said that they would not give their location or the source of the summons or any other info. They just demanded money immediately. I am not sure if they will harass me or not. I do not trust this as it not what normal collection agencies do.
How do I get them to leave me alone?

If they start harassing you with calls, record the calls and tell them so. Let them talk all they want, just walk away and don't waste your time.
Now I can just say: "By all means, come on by and serve me..." click, dzzzzzzzz...
people working in a small office in clarence i no of a friend who used to work for them there tactics are very illegal and they will even troll your Facebook and they change there number every friday morning if you even so much as say the word lawyer they WILL hang up and they will not all back i assure you
sincerely a person who knows who they are
Ask them for their address, then send them a certified letter disputing the debt and demanding validation.
If they refuse to disclose their address, and continue to harass you without providing proof, they are a scam.
Do NOT pay them anything.
Scams don't sue. They have to hide under rocks, like the snakes they are, the eagles get 'em.

Very rude people (I have spoken to a man and a woman). Threatening to put him in jail.
Or that it's owed to them?
Or that it's even a legal "debt"?
some of these scam debt collectors just make up "debt", and call making threats hoping to panic victims into paying them. Others are collecting on illegal trumpted up "payday loans" made by unlicensed "payday lenders" in states that do not allow their activities. In some cases the "lenders" were sued or shut down, and the "debts" invalidated, but the "account information" gets sold off to sleazeballs who ignore the law.
Never pay "debt" that cannot be substantiated as actually being legitimate and owed. Check with your state Attorney General to find out if lenders or debt collectors are licensed to do business in your state.
