Leaving messages on cell phone for an Eric Epperson

Don't know how this company got my cell phone #, but continues to leave messages on my cell, which I am a senior and only pay for a limited amount of minutes per month. I have gotten 4 messages for this Eric Epperson asking him to call them. I do not know Eric Epperson, never have, don't know how they got my #, and even changed my message stating my complete name, and they are still calling me "Hi, Thomas, would you please tell Eric Epperson to call us at 855-242-8567. My wife called from home phone and left them a message telling them they have got the wrong number and not to leave another message eating up our limited airtime.

Change your number, and do NOT talk to them.
Any legitimate debt collector will send you a letter, by U.S. Mail, notifying you of any alleged debt, and of your right to dispute it, as required by federal law (FDCPA). Those that fail to follow the law are often criminal operations engaged in fraud.
File complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, and the NY Attorney General. In addition, contact your state Attorney General, since your state might require that debt collectors be licensed and bonded, and they might be in violation.
MA requires that debt collectors be licensed by the state.

(b) COMMUNICATION WITH THIRD PARTIES. Except as provided in section 804, without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector, or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, or as reasonably necessary to effectuate a postjudgment judicial remedy, a debt collector may not communicate, in connection with the collection of any debt, with any person other than a consumer, his attorney, a consumer reporting agency if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.
Also, it could be a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) if a debt collector calls you on your cell phone without your express permission when you do not have an established business relationship.
