phishing from scammer with 'chase card services' ID
Complaint
Angry phone owner
Country: United States
I got a call today that showed as "Chase Card Services" on my phone ID. The number calling was 1-800-945-2000. It was a robo call letting me know that they'd been trying to reach me to lower my credit card APR. They asked me to enter the last 4 digits of my credit card to continue. I immediately hung up and called the number back -- which was answered by a recorded message "Chase Card Services".
I immediately hung up and called Chase card services directly (their number is completely different of course) and they assured me that this is a scam and that they will NEVER call anyone to offer lowered APRs.
Be very aware -- this is a more sophisticated scam in that it shows up like the real thing. NEVER trust a call that comes to you. Unless you call them directly, it's undoubtedly a scam.
