I purchased my wife's car 2006 Dodge Charger. On a trip we had problems with the vehicle so we took it to a dealer and they fixed the problems and since it was included in the warranty it was fine, but we had to travel back so they were not able to fix all the problems. We got back to our home and I took the car to another dealer in the area and they said the warranty is expired. They told me the car was built in June 2005, I have no idea why the car is called a 2006, and even if they did that they should have the warranty placed to include the extra time or warranty start upon purchase, not when it was built. Technically you lose 6 months on the warranty before you even drive off the lot.

Both Chrysler and their remaining dealers are under stress, since the company has been going through bankruptcy.

They might be giving you a line of bull.  Try another dealer, or try contacting your state's agency responsible for regulating and licensing automotive repair.

It sounds like the dealer is trying to brush you off since he can't be sure he will be paid by the manufacturer.

There are attorneys who specialize in vehicle manufacturer warranty and "lemon law" litigation.  They would probably know what the status of Chrysler warranties is.

I have a 2004 Dodge 2500 diesel pickup.  The turbo went out at 52,000 miles and they repaired it without problem.  At 65,000 miles the lift pump went out.  I called Chapman Dodge in Las Vegas NV to find out if it was under warrenty and I gave them the Vin number and they checked and said that it was covered.  When I took the pickup to them it sat for 4 days over the holidays and then they told me that it was the lift pump(I had already had that checked) and that it would be $1060.00 to repair and that it was not under warrenty.  I asked how that could be since I called first to check if it was under warrenty and they had said YES now it was NO.
What the hell is going on?  Do they still have a warrenty or not?  We can't get a straight answer.
