    Contact Verizon and the CRAs..
Contact Verizon's fraud department, sending them a dispute of the fraudulent account entry, along with a copy of your redacted credit report showing the disputed account, and a copy of the police report.  Mail it certified, return receipt requested, so you have a record of their receipt.
After confirming that verizon has received your dispute, send a written dispute to the CRA(s) reporting the fraudulent account, disputing the account due to fraud and id theft, and including a copy of your police report.  Again, mail CRRR.  Keep copies of all correspondence.

    FCRA/FACTA compliance..

The CRA(s) have a limited period to send Verizon a dispute, and Verizon has a limited period to respond and remove the error.  The CRA should reply to your dispute, notifying you as to whether it remains, is corrected, or is removed.  They have 30 days from receipt of your dispute (45 days if you're disputing from a "free annual credit report").

If they fail to remove.. replies to FCRA/FACTA compliance..
If they fail to remove the fraudulent account in a timely manner, contact an attorney as you may be able to sue either or both Verizon or the CRA for violations of FCRA/FACTA.  You can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net
