travelled from uk to this through exchange company rci I think about 8 years ago . It had just I
Opened and not quite finished . We stayed in the newest part the grand Mayan. Very nice ,holiday great etc . But after a week we were asked to go to a presentation and basically got conned . Once back in uk had certifucates which we could supposedly use for 10 years ? Even sites in europe were so expensive . I could get cheaper myself. Tried contacting them but robbed off .

    Mayan Palace sales tactics are hardcore and they will tell you anything you want to hear to get you into the contract and keep you in contract with them. It is too common for the sales representative to offer you an upgrade if you already own a timeshare with them.This is a good article on how most of the mayan palace timeshare scams are being committed and how to get out of them:
