VENTING Ineffenciently

purchase a unit, expected it to work in removing steam / moisture from both sides of stove top.......not happening, only works on left side, not right. Anyone else with this problem......plesae let me know (this will destroy your cabinets, ceilings etc. Very displeased with product, far as concerned false advertising as leads consumer to believe will function on both vent grills.
