DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER! It does not get clothes clean!! The fabric softener button is totally worthless, you have to make sure loads are perfectly balanced and often the pause/unlock button does not work! I have owned it for almost 4 years and have only kept it because we can't afford to replace it, my husband says he is going to replace it as soon as possible. Also the outside has rust. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!

    WE purchased this washer in 2013 and it has been tearing clothing, especially fine fabrics, ever since.  This is irrespective of setting used.  We have also experienced the poor washing, which is not that unusual for so-called "high-efficiency" washers.  Apparently Maytag has responded to the complaint about low water levels by making the new models with doors (or lids, as you might call them on top-loaders) that lock shut until the cycle is over!  That way you cannot see the water level.  I guess the laugh is on us.
