check problems with Wal-Mart
Complaint

Country: United States
I will first say that I ONLY pay for things at Wal-Mart with a credit card.
When I returned TRS Recovery Services' voice message, they said that Wal-Mart gave their group my 'BOUNCED CHECK' to recover payment on. LOL
I lost my purse with my checkbook in it, so NATURALLY I cancelled the checks online...to prevent anyone from using them.
You would think that Wal-Mart would ask for a picture ID when a check is over $150.... not my problem. Find the person, who took my purse.

You will need a copy of the police report to dispute TRS Recovery's attempt to collect from you, and also to keep them from negatively reporting the "bad check" (in fact, forged) on the credit files of their sister company, Telecheck. TRS is well known for these problems, and has been investigated by a number of state AGs.
Send all communications via certified mail, return receipt requested, and keep copies of EVERYTHING, in case you have to use your paper trail later in court. Avoid phone contact, as it is unlikely you will resolve anything by phone.
If you have further problems with them, contact a consumer attorney, as they have a poor record of handling disputes over misidentification or fraudulent transactions. A good consumer attorney can sue them for violations of FDCPA and FCRA, and will accept payment through court awarded attorney fees. You might try www.naca.net
