Lake Elsinore is in California (east of Los Angeles), so is El Cajon (east of San Diego).  There are at least four US towns called Boiling Springs (NC, SC, MO, PA).  Obviously, that doesn't mean it's where these scammers actually are.

In their reply, they'll give you a variant of one of the following lies:
"I'm selling it for my sister/aunt/grandma"
"It used to belong to my dead (son/husband/brother), it brings bad memories"
      "I'm away as a (soldier/flight attendant/missionary) and can't meet you"
"it's at the eBay warehouse (no such place) and ready to be shipped to you"
They will ask you to buy gift cards (eBay, Vanilla, Steam, Amazon, etc.) and send them the numbers from the back of the cards (along with a pic of the store receipt). This is just like sending cash.  Only scammers will ask you to pay with gift cards!

And now they are posting fake CL ads for event tickets, according to this warning from Atlanta craigslist:
    Quote:
Watch out for this scammer. Posting fake tickets ad's from San Francisco to Los Angeles and Boston now Cincinnati and now Atlanta. Multiple phone numbers.
He puts Lake Elsinore, El Cajon and Boiling Springs.
Lots of scammers on Craigslist!! THIS GUY IS ONE OF THE WORST. Have posted about him before - got a call last week after posting about some Braves ticket scams this guy was running. Apparently they are finally closing in on him. He has been running scams on Craigslist all over the country - California, Atlanta, and numerous others cities.
He has NUMEROUS concert and Braves ticket postings - most with California cities on the postings (even here in Georgia). The people falling for his scams are so anxious to get a great deal on tickets they don't pay enough attention.
BE CAREFUL PEOPLE - MANY, MANY SCAMMERS ON CRAIGSLIST!!
